After moving back to the East Bay, Jewish Gateways has provided me with immeasurable resources and guidance in finding Jewish culture and events in the area. Rabbi Bridget Wynne is exceptionally kind and welcoming. I strongly encourage anyone who is interested in Judaism, on any level, to contact this great organization. There is something at Jewish Gateways for everyone. I really look forward to further involvement. Check them out!

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... meeting new dynamic and interesting people, while discovering synagogues and Jewish related activities within the area.
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... learning and socializing!
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... exceptional.
Ways to make it better!
  • My experience would have been better if... there were more events offered.
  • If I had to make changes to this organization, I would… grow it!

I want to take a moment to thank Rabbi Bridgit for her help in making my Seder dinner affordable. I'm a State employee who lives from paycheck to paycheck. Aware of my current financial situation she was able to place me at a Seder dinner and service which I could afford.I really enjoyed my experience at Congregation Netivot Shalom in Berkeley.Having grown up as a reform Jew, I've attended a couple of Chabod Seders which I've enjoyed, but I'm glad to have had an opportunity to attend one at a conservative Temple this time. Once again I want to thank Rabbi Bridgit for a wonderfull Passover experience. I think she's a great resource in helping to expose one to the Greater Jewish community in the Bay Area. Mazol Tov. • I've seen the results of this organization in... Rabbi Bridgit's assistance in attending a Seder dinner here in the East Bay.
Ways to make it better!
  • One thing I'd also say is that... At this point I don't know of any way the organization could be of more help, except to offer a social program for single and divorced men and women between 45 to 60 years old,

I am a Jewish mom of an African American daughter. This monthly gathering is a perfect introduction to Judiasm for her. Everybody is very friendly and warm. My daughter likes the music, games, puppets, bubbles, stickers and food. I feel fortunate to have this special way of teaching my daughter about a part of my culture.

The Great!
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... have a bigger facility in which to host the Saturday morning events.
Ways to make it better!
  • One thing I'd also say is that... I am glad that Rabbi Bridget started Jewish Gateways.

Wonderful to have a Purim event geared to my 18-month-old daughter. It was a circle of about 15 adorable kids and their parents and a great songleader singing, playing with puppets, and more. I look forward to their Pesach event. Lately when we mention Purim to my daughter she says "Purim!" then "Mimi!" who was the songleader at this event!

The Great!
  • What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is... A Jewish event right for my young child.
Ways to make it better!
  • One thing I'd also say is that... I look forward to their next event.

I'm a Jewish guy married to a nonJew. Every now and then I get the urge to hang out with other Jewish people and revisit my heritage. I found Rabbi Bridget wonderful to talk to. She gave me suggestions for other activities I could do. Also, I spent a shabbat evening with a group at the facility (a house, really) in El Cerrito. I've been too busy with other things to go recently, but I definitely enjoyed my contact and will hope to go there again.

The Great!
  • I've seen the results of this organization in... the way Rabbi Bridget makes Judaism approachable and reaches out to unaffiliated Jews.
  • The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were... Nice folks who seemed like me.
  • If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could... Expand its outreach to more people.
Ways to make it better!
  • If I had to make changes to this organization, I would… move it closer to my house.
  • In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are... getting the funds to keep going. They offer so much, but it's not much of a business model.
